Suffering from Insomnia could mean having difficulty getting to sleep, an inability to stay asleep throughout the night and waking for no apparent reason, or waking far too early in the morning. There have been times, in the past, when I have seen every hour on the clock throughout the night!

The first thing you need to do is rule out any obvious causes, such as too much caffeine, too much stimulation prior to sleep e.g. watching a thriller, sorting finances, overeating or eating too late in the day or anything else you can think of that may be keeping you awake. Also, make sure your room is for sleeping – we like to attribute certain functions to certain rooms, and having a television in a bedroom is not conducive to a good night’s
